Tendon Pain
Tendons are the strong connective tissue structures that connect muscles to bones and transfer force during movement. Overuse, aging, injury, or other factors can cause tendon problems.
Hoe ontstaan peesklachten
Overload, repetitive movements, poor technique, insufficient recovery, degeneration due to aging and poor blood supply are some of the causes of tendon complaints. The pain complaints can arise from inflammation, strain or tear.
This can be caused by doing a sport incorrectly, but also by a daily movement that is performed incorrectly. Tendon complaints, such as inflammation, can also be caused without direct movement.

What types of tendon complaints are there and what do we treat?
There are many different types of tendon complaints, as well as the degree and severity of the complaint. These are of course decisive for the treatment method. Sometimes rest and exercises are sufficient, usually treatment is necessary and it also happens that more complex interventions are required. We have experience with, among other things:
- Tendinitis, where the tendon becomes inflamed due to overuse
- Tendinosis, where the function and strength of the tendon decreases without inflammation
- Tendon ruptures, where the tendon partially or completely tears as a result of an abrupt movement or weakening of the tendon
- Tendon sheath inflammation, in which the surrounding protection of the tendon becomes inflamed
- Tendon Bursitis, where the bursa between the tendons and bones becomes inflamed
